"The Form"

There are various styles of Tai Chi (also known as Tai Chi Ch'uan) and all involve a set pattern of movements called a "form." Arlene teaches a Yang style form developed by Cheng Man-ch'ing and a Sun style form developed by Paul Lam, M.D.

Although all forms have a martial arts base, the main focus of this teaching is to promote physical and mental health.

My approach in teaching is to help students...

  • learn sound fundamentals and philosophy,
  • identify and experience effective movement of energy in the body, and
  • promote relaxation in all parts of the body.
